A series of antimicrobial protonated diallylammonium polymers, poly(diallylammonium trifluoroacetate) (PDAATFA), were synthesized by classical polymerization, using an especially elaborated method for preparation polymers with low molecular weight (MW), and RAFT different end groups in a range MW values (8–43) × 103 g∙mol−1. Cytotoxicity relative to eukaryotic cells (epithelioid lines A-549 MA-104) bactericidal activity the (relative Pseudomonas aeruginosa Staphylococcus aureus) are investigated. The effect on toxicity is shown. Dependence and, most all, cytotoxicity preserved even at small difference (18–40) g·mol−1. clear dependence studied properties nature terminal group revealed. Sulfate -O-S(=O)2-O¯ has noticeable efficiency smaller influence toxicity, while dithiocarbonyl -S-C(=S)-O-CH2-CH3 significant drastically increasing latter. Overall, based results obtained, PDAATFA considered promising agents creation new transdermal drugs.
