In this study, the nano-spinel CoMn2O4 was synthesized by coprecipitation pyrolysis and employed to heterogeneously activate hypochlorite (NaClO) for oxidative decolorization of methylene blue (MB). The crystal structure, elemental composition, surface morphology, microstructure prepared were analyzed using a series characterization techniques. temperature screened on basis MB efficiency leaching metal ions during reaction. compared different catalysts process. impacts dosage, effective chlorine dose, concentration, initial pH explored. catalytic mechanism oxidation elucidated through quenching experiments combined with radical identification. degradation pathway preliminarily proposed based detection intermediates. reusability recycled finally investigated. results revealed that maximal minimal Co Mn achieved at calcination 600 °C. Complete within 40 min obtained an concentration 50 mg/L, dosage 1 g/L, dose 0.1%, 4.3. Superoxide (O2•−) found be dominantly responsible according scavenging electron paramagnetic resonance. spinel can five cycles removal in range 90.6~98.7%.
