Abstract Pharmaceuticals as an important group of contaminants emerging concern (CECs) are unintentionally discharged into the aquatic environment due to lack advanced treatment classical wastewater plants (WWTPs). Therefore, detection and monitoring studies pharmaceuticals personal care products (PPCPs) in getting more well definition their ecological risks ecosystem. To conduct these successfully, it is necessary develop sensitive, robust, selective, reliable methods be able analyze PPCPs. This study was carried out biological WWTP (BWWTP) Erzurum City, Türkiye, investigate efficiency plant assess for Karasu River where treated it. For this purpose, a wide range pharmaceutical classes influent (IWW) effluent samples taken from BBWWTP, Türkiye simultaneously identified quantified with liquid chromatography coupled tandem mass spectrometry following phase extraction sample preparation. A total 55 active groups 25 general drug (29 subgroups) were detected, highest average ratios being 82.459%, 7.306%, 4.949%, 2.145% analgesic-anti-inflammatory, antiepileptic, diabetic, antipyretic groups, respectively, IWW. Although flurbiprofen analgesic-anti-inflammatory 66.13% during 12-month period, had high risk quotient very initial concentration WWT 809.01–22,901.10 µg/L.

Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ), a critical nuclear receptor, plays pivotal role in regulating metabolic and inflammatory processes. However, various environmental contaminants can disrupt PPARγ function, leading to adverse health effects. This study introduces novel approach predict the inhibitory activity (IC50 values) of 140 chemical compounds across 13 categories, including pesticides, organochlorines, dioxins, detergents, flame retardants, preservatives, on PPARγ. The predictive model, based light-gradient boosting machine (LightGBM) algorithm, was trained dataset 1804 molecules showed r2 values 0.82 0.59, Mean Absolute Error (MAE) 0.38 0.58, Root Square (RMSE) 0.54 0.76 for training test sets, respectively. provides insights into interactions between emerging PPARγ, highlighting potential hazards risks these chemicals may pose public environment. ability inhibition by hazardous demonstrates value this guiding enhanced toxicology research risk assessment.

Abstract Emerging contaminants (ECs) are substances that have no defined environmental quality standards or regulations, and the potential to pose major adverse impacts on environment human health. The detection of in natural is key step for establishing precise risk assessment approach ECs. However, ECs come from different origins with various physicochemical properties, making their a complicated process. Moreover, presence aquatic at trace concentration range (ng/L-µg/L), requires an accurate low levels. This study aims develop efficient analytical method simultaneous determination 5 aqueous solution based solid phase extraction technique (SPE) followed by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC–MS/MS). High recovery rates (72% 114%) were achieved all targeted compounds. Ciprofloxacin (CIP), diuron (DIU), terbutryn (TER) diclofenac (DIC) had limit (LOD) µg/L quantification (LOQ) 10 ng/L, while LOD LOQ EE2 25 50 respectively. These results confirm optimized can be applied analysis classes environment.
