Abstract The fluorescent probe provides a simple for detecting Cu 2+ through fluorescence quenching of the Schiff‐base probes by . However, azine‐based often suffer from poor solubility and dispersibility in water are easily interfered with other competing ions, which significantly reduces their applicable potential. In this study, we synthesized water‐dissoluble highly γ‐Cyclodextrin (γ‐CD)/2‐hydroxybenzaldehyde azine (2‐HBA) inclusion complex detection. 2‐HBA into γ‐CD enhances its allows it to emit fluorescence. as‐synthesized γ‐CD/2‐HBA exhibits high sensitivity colorimetric detection , limits reaching 2.72 1.53 nM, respectively. results exceed most those reported literature. probe's structure potential mechanism were systematically analysed using experimental theoretical methods.
