Designing single-template molecularly imprinted chiral sensors for the enantioselective recognition of various amino acids (AAs) is great importance analysis. Here, a dummy template-based sensor developed by using l-alanine (l-Ala) as template and poly(o-phenylenediamine) imprinting layer, which can be used AAs such Ala, tryptophan (Trp), tyrosine (Tyr), cysteine (Cys), arginine (Arg). Compared with conventional sensors, designed shows universality since all possess an Ala-analogous segment. Also, in this work, it found that different greatly influenced sizes isoelectric points AAs.
