Aim We review extensive results from two randomized controlled trials conducted over 9 years, comparing standard care (SC) in level-4 neonatal intensive units (NICUs) with SC plus Family Nurture Intervention (FNI). Methods FNI included ~six weeks of facilitated mother-infant interactions aimed at achieving ‘autonomic emotional connection’, a novel construct that describes the mother-baby relationship level autonomic nervous system. Objectives To explore the impact of kangaroo mother care (KMC), involving both mothers and fathers, on dynamics couple relationships. Design Qualitative phenomenological study. Setting A regional comprehensive centre for child healthcare. Participants 11 couples engaged in KMC with their infants. We created a semistructured interview guide to conduct face-to-face interviews separately wives husbands. The were audio-recorded transcribed verbatim, analysed using Braun Clarke’s thematic analysis technique. Results Analysis participants’ narratives revealed three pivotal themes: ‘strengthening relationship’, ‘role adaptation redefinition’ ‘conflicts resolution’. These themes collectively illustrated complex interplay between enhanced emotional intimacy, renegotiated parental roles navigation conflicts within context neonatal caregiving. Conclusions may have effects relationships beyond its immediate benefits infant. It potentially influence relational partners. Couples' experiences practices are multifaceted complex. Through intimate act KMC, experience deepening bonds, redefinition identities, encounter challenges opportunities conflict resolution. Adopting more holistic approach including attention couple’s relationship engaging is suggested.

This research investigates the impact of kangaroo mother care restrictions on feeding and physiological parameters in preterm newborns during COVID-19 pandemic. A retrospective cohort design was used, including 169 neonates born at 30-34 weeks gestation, recruited from a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Denizli, Turkiye. The study compared group (n=78) care-restricted (n=91). Data analysis conducted using chi-square test, Fisher's exact t-test. average duration until initiation full oral shorter (mean difference=4.58, 95%CI 0.61-8.43, p=0.020). Newborns had higher likelihood reverting to gavage (OR 6.59, 2.98-14.58, p=0.000), withdrawal rates 3.36, 1.59-7.09, p=0.001). experienced significantly lower apnea attacks 3.29, 1.52-7.09, p=0.002), tachycardia 4.43, 1.54-12.76, p=0.004), desaturation 3.43, 1.70-6.93, p=0.000). highlights positive effects newborns' parameters. It is recommended that be consistently provided all newborns, even exceptional circumstances such as pandemics.
