In this paper, the interfacial properties of extended surfactants with different oxypropylene (PO) groups were comprehensively investigated by using dilational rheology. The differences in molecular orientation, spatial configuration, and relaxation process compared at gas-water interface oil-water interface. influences PO on viscoelasticity analyzed, providing important theoretical support for wide application surfactants. Experimental results show that lower number does not cause their presence states interface; however, once it increases, longer segment will spiral up direction perpendicular to interface, forming a configuration like thin cylinder. Compared air, group has better solubility oil phase. chain can still maintain helical extension from beginning end as result. However, upper layer cylinder collapse certain extent surface. Moreover, orientation hydrophobic side dynamic "tilting upright" increase adsorption amount or response dilation compression. insertion molecules little effect modulus, film strength is generally relatively low. That say, emulsifying solubilizing ability PO-containing may be more attributed matching steric packing action bulk phase than higher strength.

Interfacial dilational rheology is one of the important means to explore interfacial properties adsorption films. In this paper, rheological mixed system sulfobetaine ASB with a linear alkyl group and two anionic surfactants, petroleum sulfonate (PS) polyoxyethylene carboxylate (AEC), were investigated by rheology. The effect introduction polymer hydrophobically modified polyacrylamide (HMPAM) on was analyzed. experiment, surfactant solution used as external phase n-decane internal phase. Abstract Enhanced oil recovery (EOR) by surfactant flooding has been attractive. Among the surfactants developed alcohol polyoxypropylene (PO)‐polyoxyethylene (EO) ether sulfates (APES), also named extended surfactants, have proved efficient. However, arrangement of PO and EO chains as well hydrocarbon structure in molecules may significantly affect their performances. In this paper three APES, C 18−16 25 10 SO 4 Na (I), (PO/EO) 25+10 (II), 16 GA(PO/EO) (III) were prepared investigated, which APES (I) (II) designed to same numbers but block randomly copolymerized respectively with linear fatty alcohols starting agent, whereas was derived from double chain Guerbet (C GA) copolymerized. The results show that gives much better brine solubility counterion tolerance than (III). Although all synthesized are highly surface‐active can reduce Daqing crude oil/simulated interfacial tension (IFT) ultralow mixing more hydrophobic presence or absence alkali, lowest IFT due chains. addition, it is found for gelation occurs neutralization process corresponding nonionic intermediate viscous, two intermediates liquid‐like low viscosity, be feasible apply 3 /air falling film sulfation. This study provided useful information embedded moiety designing EOR.
