Wastewater containing heavy metal ions discharged from industries has caused serious pollution to water. As for how use renewable resources as the substrate, green preparation of adsorbents through eco-friendly processes and effective disposal become urgent. In this work, low-cost, environmentally-friendly easily modified natural biomass ramie was used glycidyl methacrylate (GMA) epoxy functional group grafted onto via electron beam irradiation (grafting rate up 332.3 %). A ramie-poly-GMA-IDA (RGD) adsorbent prepared by ring-opening reaction with iminodiacetic acid (IDA). The adsorption process affected pH, RGD could effectively uptake Pb2+ when pH = 5.0, equilibrium can be quickly reached within 50 min. Moreover, possessed excellent properties, capacity maximized 225.71 mg/g. procedure obeys a pseudo-2nd-order kinetic Langmuir equation. possible mechanisms are complexation, electrostatic interaction ion exchange. This study presents that IDA-functionalized an efficient biomass-based uptake. Thus, green, closed-loop utilization agricultural forestry wastes is achieved, which helps reduce resource consumption protect environment.
