This study aimed to examine the extent of compliance with Ordinance No. 17, series 2022 which prohibits use styrofoam containers and regulates single-use plastics in Cabugao Public Market. The research addresses detrimental environmental, public health, economic impacts these materials. employed a descriptive design snowball sampling technique gather data from wet market vendors through survey-checklist. findings indicate high level awareness among vendors. All respondents were aware ordinance its objectives, actively participated regulating plastic use, reported consistent monitoring by local government. However, some faced challenges related customer complaints about durability alternative packaging higher cost compared bags. Vendors provided suggestions address issues, such as allowing environmental-friendly

Hydrothermal carbonization (HTC) is a novel thermochemical process that turns biomass into hydrochar, substance rich in carbon has potential uses advanced material synthesis, energy production, and environmental remediation. With an emphasis on important chemical pathways, such as dehydration, decarboxylation, polymerization, control the conversion of lignocellulosic useful this review critically investigates fundamental chemistry HTC. A detailed analysis conducted effects variables physicochemical characteristics including temperature, pressure, composition, water ratio, residence time. Particular focus placed new developments HTC technology improve sustainability efficiency, like recirculating microwave-assisted co-hydrothermal carbonization. Furthermore, improvement adsorption capacity for organic contaminants heavy metals explored relation to functionalization activation namely through surface modification KOH treatment. The performance hydrochar biochar adsorption, catalysis, storage compared, emphasizing unique benefits difficulties each substance. Although comparatively high higher heating value (HHV) can be good substitute coal, issues with reactor design, scalability, secondary waste management continue limit its widespread use. In order maximize sustainable profitable avenue valorization, study addresses critical research gaps future initiatives.

Bisphenol A (BPA) raises concerns among the scientific community as it is one of most widely used compounds in industrial processes and a component polycarbonate plastics epoxy resins. In this review, we discuss mechanism BPA toxicity food-grade plastics. Owing to its proliferation aqueous environment, delved into performance various biological, physical, chemical techniques for remediation. Detailed mechanistic insights these removal are provided. The toxic effects unravel changes at cellular level brain, which can result learning difficulties, increased aggressiveness, hyperactivity, endocrine disorders, reduced fertility, risk dependence on illicit substances. Bacterial decomposition leads new intermediates products with lower toxicity. Processes such membrane filtration, adsorption, coagulation, ozonation, photocatalysis have also been shown be efficient aqueous-phase degradation. breakdown discussed. review demonstrates that high efficiency usually achieved expense throughput. For scalable application degradation technologies, needs remain We propose need process intensification using an integrated combination processes, solve multiple associated challenges.
