Monodisperse SiO2 microspheres are widely used in catalysis, separation, adsorption, and drug delivery. Their particle size, uniformity, specific surface area crucial for these applications. This study reports the novel preparation of monodisperse using cetyltrimethylammonium bromide as template agent, employing hexadecylamine serving concurrently a pore-expanding agent catalyst. By controlling reactant quantities reaction conditions, we achieved with tunable sizes ranging from 800 nm to 2.5 μm exceptionally large areas. It is worth mentioning that size 2 extremely uniform distribution were produced at room temperature. Excitingly, it has BET 1543 m2/g. Various effects on investigated detail, growth mechanism was elucidated.
