This study extensively characterizes the morphological characteristics, including leaf morphology, plant structure, flower development, and trichome features throughout entire life cycle of Cannabis sativa L. cv. White Widow. The developmental responses to photoperiodic variations were investigated from germination mature senescence. morphology showed a progression complexity, beginning with serrations in 1st true leaves, until emergence nine leaflets 6th followed by distinct shift eight, then seven 14th 15th respectively. Thereafter, complexity decreased, culminating single leaflet 25th node. area peaked 12th which coincided change opposite alternate phyllotaxy. stipule development at nodes 5 6 signified vegetative phase, bract solitary emerging 7-12, signifying reproductive phase. subsequent induction short-day photoperiod triggered formation apical inflorescence. Mature flowers displayed abundant glandular trichomes on perigonal bracts, stigma color changing whitish-yellow reddish-brown. A pronounced increase density was evident, particularly abaxial surface, following onset flowering. exhibited simultaneous growth stalk length head diameter shifts color. Hermaphroditism occurred well after general harvest date. comprehensive documents intricate photoperiod-driven changes complete lifecycle characterized provide valuable insights for industrial research applications.

ABSTRACT Leaf morphology is crucial for plant photosynthesis and stress adaptation. While CIN‐like TCP transcription factors are well‐known their roles in leaf curling morphogenesis, the function of CYC‐like TCPs development remains largely unexplored. This study identifies CmCYC2d as a key regulator abaxial Chrysanthemum morifolium . Phenotypic analysis revealed that downward observed OX‐ transgenic lines was primarily due to enlargement adaxial epidermal cells. Furthermore, reduction cell number identified significant contributor smaller area these plants. Transcriptome WGCNA analyses highlighted CmSAUR55 potential downstream target CmCYC2d. ChIP‐qPCR, EMSA, LUC assays confirmed directly bound promoter. Additionally, transcriptome data reduced may be mediated by auxin‐related pathways genes such CNR7 The CmCYC2d‐CmSAUR55 module also closely linked enlarged cells sinus, emphasising its role this developmental process. highlights regulatory sheds light on molecular mechanisms underlying chrysanthemum.

Abstract Many dicotyledonous plants employ folding of immature leaf surfaces into buds before developing mature leaves. Bud in leaves is impacted by taxonomy and ecology, fossil evidence provides insight its evolution. Direct leaf-bud patterns rare the record. Herein, we describe compressions from middle Eocene (47.8–37.71 Ma) Geiseltal lignite deposits Germany, which exhibit feeding damage consisting files holes across (damage types DT06 DT425). We compare on these to various models bud-feeding, including digital paper origami, artificial living buds, more accurately interpret fossils. One specimens exhibits a complex pattern, can be roughly assigned seven lines leaf. Models based this indicate that pattern consistent with an insect bud was folded semi-corrugated creating observed after burst (DT06). The two other simpler bilaterally symmetrical damage. This likely resulted while they were half, as bud, or half at night response herbivory (DT425). may confirm ecologies life histories are not otherwise directly recorded. Moreover, presented here contribute recognizing bud-feeding traces
