Abstract Iron corrosion in acidic environments poses a significant challenge various industries. This study explores the relationship between theoretical parameters and experimental data for organic inhibitors applied to iron surfaces 1 M HCl solution at 25 °C. The review analyzes studies employing techniques, primarily Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS), assess inhibitor efficiency (IE%). Key like E binding (interaction strength) Δ N (electron transfer) are investigated their ability predict IE%. findings reveal strong correlation IE% , suggesting potential of as reliable predictor performance before experimentation. While demonstrates promise evaluating effectiveness, further validation is necessary. Furthermore, emphasizes possibility using single standardized method EIS evaluation due consistent results observed across with conditions. Additionally, influence factors molecular structure, surface interactions, temperature on effectiveness highlighted. Higher concentrations lower temperatures generally resulted improved inhibition. underscores importance combined approach development efficient optimized environments.

Abstract This study evaluated Aloe vera extract as a green inhibitor to prevent corrosion in seawater environments. A. was produced by maceration with methanol–water at room temperature. Electrochemical techniques were used evaluate the effectiveness of extract. The morphology products analyzed FE-SEM equipped EDS and AFM. FT-IR LCMS characterized functional structural groups this electrochemical measurements show that could effectively reduce API 5L steel Inhibition efficiency (IE) increases increasing concentration. Optimal inhibition around 83.75% (PDP) 88.60% (EIS) obtained adding 300 mg L −1 310 K. Furthermore, higher concentration extract, greater activation energy (E ), highest being 48.24 kJ mol for . Conversely, temperature exposure duration reduces values; best period 30 min 88.34% IE is achieved adsorption process bioactive on metal surfaces mixed through physisorption-chemisorption mechanism. finding confirmed smoother surface treated than without. unveiling investigation found has potential be an environmentally friendly environment.

This study investigates the inhibitory effects of poly(4-vinyl pyridine) (P4VP) and polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) on corrosion low carbon steel (LCSt) in 1 M H2SO4. Protection efficacy (%PE) was measured using mass loss, potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). Results showed %PE values increased with higher polymer concentration lower temperature. At 450 mg/L, reached 93.13% 94.19% for P4VP PVP, respectively. These polymers function as mixed inhibitors, adsorbing onto LCSt surface per Langmuir's model a mode physical adsorption. EIS indicated that charge transfer resistance decreased effective double-layer capacitance. Both PVP also reduced pitting chloride-containing solutions. Density Functional Theory (DFT) Time-Dependent DFT (TD-DFT) optimized molecular structures evaluating electronic parameters such frontier orbital (FMO) energies, energy gap, softness, hardness, electron fraction, dipole moment, hyperpolarizability (β°). Monte Carlo (MC) dynamics (MD) simulations provided insights into adsorption mechanisms, corroborating experimental findings highlighting effect protonation. comprehensive enhances our understanding relationship between structure improving their application protection.
