ABSTRACT A two‐dimensional (2D) zinc(II) coordination polymer CP‐1 , [Zn(im 2 bod)(bdc)] n (im bod = 4,6‐bis(imidazol‐1‐yl)‐2,1,3‐benzoxadiazole, bdc 2− 1,4‐benzenedicarboxylate), was synthesized and fully characterized. crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system, space group P 1 /n. Zn 2+ ions adopt a four‐coordinated distorted tetrahedral geometry. The structure of comprises layer consisting cations connected by im ligands. adjutant layers participate π‐π stacking interactions via benzene 2,1,3‐benzoxadiazole rings. demonstrated blue emission with maximum at 490 nm photoluminescence quantum yield 24%. Luminescent sensing properties aqueous suspension toward metal were evaluated, selective quenching response observed Ga 3+ limit detection 10 μM.

Three new coordination polymers, {[M(nbpdc)(DMF)(H2O)2]·H2O}∞ (M = Co and Ni) [Zn(nbpdc)(DMF)(H2O)]∞, were synthesized from 2-nitrobiphenyl-4,4'-dicarboxylate (nbpdc2-). The isomorphous Co(II) Ni(II) compounds exhibited a two-dimensional network in which the chains with single-water bridges single-nbpdc2- intersected each other by sharing metal ions. networks connected uncoordinated water molecules through hydrogen bonds. rarely identified single-water-bridged chain was reinforced water-based intrachain mediated modest antiferromagnetic superexchange both afforded spin-canting structure for compound at low temperatures. Water played distinct structural role Zn(II) compound, one-dimensional polymer bridges. Instead of bridging ions, molecule coordinated to one ion hydrogen-bonded spheres two resulting an infinite ladderlike hydrogen-bonding motif. ladders interlinked nbpdc-bridged into three-dimensional supramolecular architecture featuring 5-conneted {44.64} net.
