ABSTRACT The corrosion inhibition performance of a sesamol derivative (SSMA) and salicylamide (ADIC) on Q235 mild steel in 1 M HCl solution was systematically investigated. Results from static weight loss measurements indicate that both derivatives are capable providing excellent protection to even under high‐temperature conditions at low concentrations. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) shows the efficiencies SSMA ADIC reach 95.22% 97.11%, respectively, concentration 0.5 g·L −1 . Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) confocal laser scanning (CLSM) observations show remarkable improvements morphology surface. adsorption behavior these two closely follows Langmuir isotherm model is hybrid type which chemisorption plays dominant role. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations molecular dynamics simulations (MDS) suggest inhibitor molecules adsorb parallel interface, relying their electron‐rich groups heteroatoms. resulting hydrophobic barriers effectively isolate corrosive medium, preventing steel. Overall, have great potential for use as green inhibitors pickling industry.
