Bioinspired nanomedicines for the management of osteosarcoma: recent progress and perspectives

Osteosarcoma (OS) is the most prevalent malignant primary bone tumor, predominantly affecting children and young adults between ages of 11 20. OS presents huge challenges in treatment because its aggressive nature high metastatic potential. Chemotherapeutic drugs have attracted considerable interest for OS, but they suffer from poor targeting, low bioavailability, severe side effects, multi-drug resistance acquired by tumor. Therefore, it imperative to develop novel therapeutic tactics that can improve outcomes while minimizing toxicity. Bioinspired nanoparticles, designed through exploiting or simulating biological structures processes, provide promising strategies OS.
