Technetium-99 (99Tc), a troublesome radioisotope prevalent in nuclear liquid waste, poses significant environmental and human health hazards due to its long half-life, high fission yield, fast mobility. The successful mitigation of 99Tc is imperative for waste management; however, it continues present obstacle. In this comprehensive review, we explore the state-of-the-art developments separating TcO4 - ions using functionalized metal-organic framework (MOF) materials, spanning from 2010 present. We delve into intricate separation mechanisms ions, shedding light on advanced research avenues field. Furthermore, aim provide understanding underlying receptor chemistry that necessary specific targeting pertechnetate anion-based materials. This will valuable insights molecular characteristics are crucial solutions containing waste. review outlines perspectives conclusions pave promising path investigation materials poised revolutionize separation. Finally, forward-looking recommendations future directions, opportunities, associated challenges, encourage more researchers leverage selective better management pollution.

Among the naturally occurring polysaccharides, chitosan is second-most abundant polysaccharide. It obtained from chitin through a process known as deacetylation. biodegradable, biocompatible, and non-toxic, which made it suitable for various environmental applications. In present review, structure, properties, characteristics of were discussed. addition, modified forms (including cross-linked, nanoparticles, functionalized, grafted chitosan) enumerated. The applications these in adsorption organic pollutants (such antibiotics, dyes, pesticides, microplastics, polyaromatic hydrocarbons, parabens, polychlorobiphenyls) are comprehensively reviewed. Furthermore, mechanism adsorption, isotherm (Langmuir Freundlich), kinetic models highlighted. Finally, economic viability assessment impact processing tons shrimp shells into annually
