In recent years, the anti-corrosive properties of natural extracts as environmentally friendly inhibitors have gained considerable interest. This study evaluates potential Marjoram (Origanum majorana L.) essential oil (OML), collected from Salé, Morocco, a corrosion inhibitor for mild steel in 1 M HCl medium. The protection performance OML was assessed using various electrochemical techniques, including potentiodynamic polarization (PDP) and impedance spectroscopy (EIS), well weight loss method. influence concentration temperature on inhibition were investigated. demonstrated pronounced inhibitory benefits via increasing resistance corrosive solution, thus reducing rate to 0.11 mg cm−2 h−1 efficiency 87.1% at an 500 ppm. PDP confirmed that works mixed-type with cathodic supremacy. EIS revealed charge transfer mechanism is main controlling factor process. thermodynamic parameters suggested key role physisorption inhibition, following Langmuir isotherm. Importantly, SEM EDX analyses formation protective layer extract onto surface, which shields surface species. owed functional group-rich phytochemicals OML. Therefore, development bio-based not only step towards more eco-friendly industrial practices, but also meets growing demand sustainable materials world constrained resources.
