In this work, pure ZnO, SnO 2 , and ZnO‐SnO nanostructured composites (Z‐S heterostructure) are fabricated by a facile environmental savvy hydrothermal method at 230°C for 12 hours followed high‐temperature annealing. The synthesized samples were examined to analyse the structural optical characteristics using XRD, TEM, XPS, UV‐DRS techniques. Investigate photocatalytic activity (PCA) of Z‐S heterostructure decolorization methylene blue (MB) model pollutant in wastewater visible light irradiation. XRD analysis reveals that ZnO exhibit hexagonal wurtzite structure tetragonal rutile structure. TEM micrographs infer nanorod‐like nanoflake‐like thin nanosheet‐like Z‐S. XPS evidence presence constitutes elements Zn +2 Sn O −2 valance states along with peaks heterostructure. band gaps (3.37 eV), (3.6 (2.84 eV) inferred analysis, together red shift. Under two illumination, degradation efficiency MB dye is 38.55, 32.68, 82.45%. formation unique maximum departure charge carriers reasons obtaining robust than pristine . process photocatalyst, reusability test findings, suggested separation technique customizing photocatalyst under irradiation presented.
