Supply chain waste gives rise to significant challenges in terms of disposal, making upcycling a promising and sustainable alternative for the recovery bioactive compounds from by-products. Lignocellulosic by-products like STF231, which are derived medicinal plant extract industry, offer valuable such as polyphenols iridoids that can be recovered through upcycling. In an unprecedented study, we explored compared conventional hydroethanolic extraction, ultrasound natural deep eutectic solvents-ultrasound extraction methods on STF231 obtain extracts with antioxidant activity. The profile total (TPCs) was measured using Folin-Ciocalteu test capacity tested FRAP DPPH assays. HPLC-UV employed quantify phenolic iridoid markers extracts. Additionally, sustainability process assessed green analytical procedure index (GAPI), AGREEprep, GREEnness metric approach (AGREE) frameworks. Our findings indicate choline chloride lactic acid mixture at 1:5 ratio, under optimal conditions, resulted higher TPC similar activity innovative aspect this study lies potential application protocols previously unexamined matrix, resulting health applications.
