Abstract Acute kidney injury (AKI) occurs when there is an imbalance in the immune microenvironment, leading to ongoing and excessive inflammation. Numerous immunomodulatory therapies have been suggested for treatment of AKI, current delivery systems are suboptimal lack efficiency.
