Evidence regarding the relationship between free triiodothyronine (FT3) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) remains limited. This study aimed to evaluate association FT3 LDL-C levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) who exhibit normal thyroid function. Between June 2022 October 2023, a total of 3011 inpatients T2DM euthyroid status were continuously non-selectively recruited from Chinese hospital. The average age included individuals was 56.92 ± 12.56 years, 1430 (47.49%) males. mean concentration 4.35 0.56 pmol/L. A logistic regression model applied analyse levels, while smooth curve fitting employed investigate potential nonlinear associations these variables. demonstrated positive correlation (0.05 [95% CI: 0.02-0.07; p = 0.0018]) (p 0.0014) diabetes. Specifically, when below 4.28 pmol/L, increased alongside rising concentration. However, reached or exceeded plateaued tended stabilise. These findings suggest that maintaining within range 2.76 pmol/L may be most beneficial for mitigating progression cardiovascular disease T2DM. Our research is important identifying optimal delay provide valuable insights guide clinicians preventing managing this population.

Abstract Background In recent years, there has been growing awareness of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) linked to hypothyroidism. However, insufficient data exists on how levothyroxine (LT4) replacement therapy impacts MASLD. We aimed assess the effects LT4 treatment dyslipidemia and MASLD in patients with subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH). Methods a randomized, controlled study, 230 were screened for SCH, 182 diagnosed SCH. Of these, 30 had significant SCH 152 mild All received (significant SCH-LT4), while those divided into two groups: 50 (mild SCH-LT4) 102 did not SCH-control). Results Significant improvements hepatic steatosis severity observed treated groups compared control. After treatment, prevalence decreased 50% ( p = 0.001) SCH-LT4 group 60% 0.025) group. SCH-control group, improved slightly but non-significantly from 100 75% 0.164). Compared other groups, showed greater parameters, including weight, body mass index, total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein C-reactive protein, emphasizing notable impact levothyroxine. Conclusion This study highlights that can significantly improve MASLD, dyslipidemia, systemic inflammation particularly These findings support clinical use thyroxine managing patients.

Thyroid hormones (THs) are important modulators of many metabolic processes, being strictly associated with the control energy balance, mainly through activities on brain, white and brown adipose tissue, skeletal muscle, liver, pancreas. In this review, principal mechanisms TH regulation processes will be discussed THs’ relevance in disease progression evaluated, especially cardiovascular context correlated diseases. Moreover, we discuss regulatory role events a special focus process “browning”, which consists gradual acquisition by adipocytes physical functional characteristics adipocytes. The advancements research molecular proposed physiopathological discussed.

ABSTRACT Background Evidence for assessing the relationship between free triiodothyronine (FT3) and high‐density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL‐C) remains limited. Therefore, purpose of our study is to evaluate FT3 HDL‐C in patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods From June 2022 October 2023, 3011 normal thyroid function diagnosed diabetes mellitus (T2DM) were collected continuously non‐selectively a Chinese hospital. Then, we used logistic regression model explore HDL‐C. Smooth curve fitting identify nonlinear Results After adjusting influence relevant factors, negatively correlated −0.02 (−0.04, −0.00; p = 0.0162). There also HDL‐C, an inflection point 3.48 pmol/L (P log‐ likelihood ratio test 0.044). Conclusion This shows that there negative correlation population When 2.76–3.48 pmol/L, tends stable state; 3.48–6.45 decreases increase concentration (According reference range by hospital, value serum 2.76–6.45 pmol/L). These findings suggest maintaining within 2.76 may be most beneficial mitigating progression cardiovascular disease T2DM.
