The outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), which caused the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, has posed significant healthcare challenges. In addition to complications, it led damage in other organs, particularly cardiovascular system. Of which, myocardial injury is increasingly recognized as a most complication, contributing high mortality. Recent research indicates pivotal role immune dysregulation mediating patients infected with SARS-CoV-2. this review, we provide comprehensive analysis mechanisms involved SARS-CoV-2-induced damage, focusing on roles key cells and molecules that contribute pathological process. Aiming at mitigating COVID-19, review immune-based treatments under evaluation preclinical clinical trials. Along talking about similarities differences resulting from SARS-CoV-2, Middle East (MERS-CoV) (SARS-CoV). This article provides unique perspective using past experiences prevent face ongoing virus mutations.
