non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC) is among the most prevalent forms of originating in top layer skin, with basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and squamous (SCC) being its primary categories. While both types are highly treatable, success treatment hinges on early diagnosis. Early-stage NMSC detection can be achieved through clinical examination, typically involving visual inspection. An alternative, albeit invasive, method a biopsy. Microwave imaging has gained prominence for non-invasive various cancers, leveraging distinct dielectric properties healthy malignant tissues to discriminate tumors categorize them as benign or malignant. Recent studies demonstrate potential terahertz (THz) spectroscopy detecting biomarkers by aligning electromagnetic wave frequencies low THz range (0.1 10 THz) resonant biomolecules, such proteins. This study proposes an innovative microscale biosensor designed operate high-sensitivity efficient diagnosis cancer. By incorporating meticulously metamaterial layers, sensor's absorption controlled, critical aspect discriminating between normal NMSC-affected skin. In particular, interaction waves, influenced unique vibrational resonances molecules within tissue, crucial propagation scattering. Extensive numerical showcased suitability proposed diagnosis, illustrated specific case studies. These findings hold pave way further development microwave-imaging-based techniques other

Abstract Background Niosomes hold promise as drug delivery systems for cancer treatment, with niosome size impacting stability, biodistribution, and effectiveness. This study optimized methotrexate (MTX)-loaded formulation by studying the effects of components processing conditions on size. The niosomes was made thin-film hydration technique. Results (NIO 17) a 6:2:2 ratio span 60, soya PC, cholesterol achieved 55.05% encapsulation, particle 597.2 nm, PDI 0.49, zeta potential − 23.3 mV. compatibility lipids confirmed via Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy revealed spherical, well-dispersed vesicles. Differential scanning calorimetry indicated conversion or entrapment within In vitro release exhibited sustained pattern an initial burst. NIO 17 showed potent anti-cancer activity against B16-F10 cells (GI50: 38.7176 μg/mL). Ex vivo studies suggest tailoring (597.2–982.3 nm) to target specific skin depths (0–38 μm) enhanced localized delivery. Conclusions demonstrates methotrexate-loaded novel therapy approach, highlighting transdermal 17. Further research is necessary explore its clinical translation. Graphical abstract

AND “non-melanoma” “skin” “cancer” “(treatment OR diagnosis)”.

Non-melanoma skin cancer (NMSC) is the most prevalent malignancy worldwide, with approximately 6.3 million new cases worldwide in 2019. One of key management strategies for NMSC a topical treatment usually utilised localised and early-stage disease owing to its non-invasive nature. However, efficacy agents often hindered by poor drug penetration patient adherence. Therefore, various research groups have employed advanced delivery systems, including patches overcome problem conventional treatments. This review begins an overview as well current landscape treatments NMSC, specifically focusing on emerging technology patches. Non-melanoma skin cancers (NMSCs), including basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and squamous (SCC), have shown significant global increases in burden, particularly among older adults, with wide regional, gender, socio-demographic disparities. However, no previous study has comprehensively analyzed these trends using integrated multi-model approaches. A comprehensive analysis of non-melanoma cancer (NMSC) data from 1990 to 2021 was performed, trend analysis, frontier decomposition compare the burden (SCC) across regions, genders, groups. Temporal incidence, prevalence, disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) were identified epidemiological techniques. To forecast future disease 2022 2050, eight machine learning models (Prophet, ARIMA, TBATS, ElasticNet, ETS, VAR, HoltWinters, Theta) applied, most optimal predictive for BCC SCC selected based on performance metrics. From 2021, adults increased substantially. The incidence rose by 291.85%, an age-standardized rate (ASR) increase 62.79%, while 322.77%, a 67.42% rise ASR. High Socio-Demographic Index (SDI) regions showed largest ASR (102.73%) (107.31%), whereas low SDI demonstrated more modest changes or declines (BCC: - 2.86%, SCC: 3.08%). Gender disparities observed, males accounting 56.47% cases globally. Decomposition revealed that population growth primary driver NMSC contributing 62.52-83.92% DALYs, accounted up 52.2% high regions. Frontier highlighted regional disparities, such as North America, exhibiting highest rates (2,923.22 per 100,000) (1,805.33 100,000), like sub-Saharan Africa, minimal burdens near values. Finally, forecasting 2050 predicted slight decrease (from 314.00 308.73 157.67 148.16 100,000). Disability-adjusted are projected decline (79.32 75.20 but slightly (0.136 0.151 These projections underscore need tailored strategies address growing NMSC. NMSCs, underscores urgent prevention, resource allocation, management strategies. Machine learning-based approaches provide robust insights into challenges SCC.
