This paper discusses (i) the usefulness and (ii) clarity of concept arousal. In discussing its usefulness, I argue that we can explain some key “arousal effects” without relying on To do so, consider role appraisal affective relevance as a process mainly subserved by amygdala explaining emotional effects attention, memory, learning.
