Abstract How well autistic children can imitate movements and how their brain activity synchronizes with the person they are imitating have been understudied. The current study adopted functional near‐infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) hyperscanning employed a task involving real interactions meaningful meaningless movement imitation to explore fundamental nature of as dynamic interactive process. Experiment 1 explored gesture imitation. results revealed that exhibited lower accuracy behavioral synchrony than non‐autistic when both gestures. Specifically, compared children, displayed significantly higher interpersonal neural synchronization (INS) in right inferior parietal lobule (r‐IPL) (channel 12) gestures but INS 2 further investigated four types (orofacial movements, transitive limb gestures). across all types, accuracy, synchrony, r‐IPL children. This is first identify biomarker difficulties individuals. Furthermore, an intra‐ interindividual mechanism model was proposed explain underlying causes

Although collaborative design in virtual reality (VR) is now feasible, enabling face-to-face interactions between individuals, research lacking on how it impacts from cognition and differs reality. This study examined the behavior of 30 postgraduates who completed innovation tasks early phases both VR based real-life problems. An experimental analysis performance outcomes was conducted, inter-brain synchrony (IBS) measured using fNIRS hyperscanning to compare differences designers results indicate no significant difference final idea quality groups, IBS were found. Fewer channels showed group than group, which associated with satisfaction. Moreover, deepening less variability other phases, related brain's primary motor cortex. We formulated insights recommendations several dimensions within method stimulating a environment: communication, cognitive synchronization, embodiment.

Abstract Studies revealed that, while collaborating, humans tend to synchronise on multiple levels (e.g., neurocognitive or physiological). Inter-brain synchrony has been linked improved problem-solving, decision-making, and creativity. Nevertheless, studies in design teams started emerge only recently. This study contributes this stream of research by utilising a computational model team explore the relationships between cohesion, synchrony, performance. The experiments positive link cohesion level emergence (cognitive) synchrony. Furthermore, cohesive were found be more efficient, converging quicker producing solutions at higher rate. In addition, diversity generated highly tends increase over time. Teams medium- low-cohesive settings initially generate diverse solutions, but such decreases as simulation progresses. Finally, highly-cohesive prone premature convergence.
