Global subdimensions cognition including executive function, visuospatial language memory assessed using Montreal Cognitive Assessment Scale, Trail Making Test, Auditory Verbal Learning Boston Naming Test-30 Clock-Drawing while its metabolomics detected 16S rRNA ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry at baseline end intervention. microbiota analysed linear mixed models bootstrapping method Hayes process. Ethics dissemination conforms Declaration Helsinki principles relevant ethical guidelines. Ethical approval obtained from Committee Shanghai University Medicine Health Sciences (approval number: 2023-GZR-011). Written informed consent all participants. Results disseminated groups peer-reviewed journal(s), international national scientific conferences. Key findings also shared social media, healthcare providers, support access for non-research audiences. Trial registration number ChiCTR2300078147.

Abstract The intimate connections among the gut, immune system, and brain have become increasingly apparent in recent years. Alterations gut microbiome been reported several neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s multiple sclerosis.
