ABSTRACT Introduction Maternal care plays a fundamental role in early life, and the alteration of its patterns can negatively affect developmental course offspring myriad domains both rats humans. The limited bedding nesting (LBN) protocol is an extensively used paradigm rodents to address impact altered maternal behavior on infants' neurodevelopment. Here, we explore LBN conditions by describing sequences transition between components using network analysis. Using this technique, capture how often transitions take place during period which behaviors play central roles those over time. Materials Methods Female their pups were placed standard housing from Postpartum Days 2 9, was observed light dark phases. We inferential statistical analysis compare profiles control dams, sequence LBN. Results Compared dams significantly increased high crouch nursing posture light/dark phases ( p = 0.018), number behavioral only phase 0.0004). Network revealed specific characterized predominance switches active postures first five days protocol. Conclusion Nursing most disrupted component under protocol, mainly phase. complement extend traditional methods gain more thorough understanding strategies potential consequences for offspring.
