To examine the association between newer generation antidepressants and insomnia as an adverse event (AE) in treatment of children adolescents with major depressive disorder (MDD). A systematic search was performed databases (inception to August 31st, 2023) retrieve double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomized controlled trials (RCTs) evaluating safety 19 acute (initial 6 12 weeks) aged ≤ 18 years MDD (primary analyses). Summary Insomnia disorder may affect mental health, increasing suicidal risk. Targeting insomnia is crucial in the clinical practice. Based on previous data reporting the status of health professionals' training about sleep clinical psychophysiology, insomnia, and its treatment in US Canada, this paper aims at providing a snapshot Italian situation, considering professionals qualified to offer cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
