In the production of oil and natural gas, excessive clearance volume is an important factor affecting normal operation oil-gas multiphase pump. Currently, little research has been conducted on effect output characteristics pump at home abroad, leading to extremely low efficiency in field application Therefore, this study numerical calculations internal flow performance under different volumes using FLUENT software. Results show that pressure fluid velocity gradually decrease as increases. Simultaneously, number intensity vortex increase, media pressurization speed becomes slower, lag angle discharge valve opening larger. Moreover, conditions with a higher gas fraction, larger experiences locking. Furthermore, provides theoretical basis for reasonable design by drawing relationship curve between fraction volume. These findings can provide support optimization improvement pumps.

A three-dimensional gas–liquid two-phase transient numerical model for a twin-screw multiphase pump based on dynamic grid technology was established and validated with experiments. The pump's simulated pressure distributions, velocity fields, pulsations were analyzed to reveal the mechanisms of transmission pulsation characteristics. results indicated that flow rate fluctuated twice due discharge male female rotors in one cycle. As inlet gas volume fractions increased, decreased, but increased. At engaging positions two rotor tips, sudden drop happened combined effect both tooth-tip tooth-flank leakage. When port opened, backflow happened; chamber working suction chambers closed, slight compression fluid low-pressure occurred, causing increase chamber. inhaled discharged once cycle, so first harmonic at times running speed. simultaneous closing opening ports sides generated four This study would help improve operational stability pumps.
