The shift of European countries to more environmentally friendly sources energy is leading an increase in the share natural gas mix. At same time, flexibility and cost-effectiveness maritime transport are making liquefied (LNG) competitive compared traditional forms gas, despite recent geopolitical, health economic events threatening its supply chain. aim this study analyze LNG import network using theory indicators identify trading communities investigate security through failure simulation. model was developed a programming code MATLAB R2022B software. results analysis can be summarized as follows: (a) center gravity trade from Mediterranean Atlantic shores identified; (b) gradual consolidation Europe’s noted; (c) increasing dependence Europe on limited number observed; (d) most critical nodes for resilience were identified modeling. Based these findings, recommendations proposed strengthen independence.

The dry bulk shipping network is an important carrier of global commodity flow. To better understand the structural characteristics and future development trends (GDBSN), this study proposes a framework for analysis link prediction based on complex theory. integrates large-scale heterogeneous data, including automatic identification system data port geographic information, to construct GDBSN. findings reveal that exhibits small-world properties, with Port Singapore identified as most influential node. Link results indicate many potential new routes exist within regions or between neighboring countries, exhibiting clear regional clustering characteristics. added links mainly influence local structure, minimal impact overall topology. This provides valuable insights companies in route planning authorities developing strategic plans.

Analyzing the interactions between spot and time charter freight is crucial for maritime industry. While numerous studies have explored relationship average indices spillover effects, a gap remains in understanding deeper connections inter-regional shipping routes chartering contracts. This research investigates role of Capesize dynamics shaping regional dry bulk market, with focus on influence energy commodity price fluctuations. Utilizing TVP-VAR model, we identify distinct trends across various investment horizons. The analysis reveals that short-term spillovers dominate system, crude oil serving as consistent shock transmitter within network. China-Brazil route drives all periods, while Australia-China transitions from absorbing volatility to transmitting long-term shocks. Similarly, Tubarão-Rotterdam Bolivar-Rotterdam display comparable shifts, but volatility. These findings offer valuable insights stakeholders seeking manage risks amidst economic geopolitical uncertainties.
