Background Cystic echinococcosis (CE), a zoonosis caused by Echinococcus granulosus sensu lato (EG), is major public health burden in western China. The study aimed to evaluate the current status of KAP about CE among undergraduate students from areas China, and provide basis for developing education strategies college on prevention CE. Methods A cross-sectional was conducted September 2023 April 2024 cluster sampling method used enroll participants students. Cronbach’s alpha coefficient questionnaire, χ 2 test comparing rates, independent sample T scores, linear regression analyses were study. Results total 724 included Approximately 65% (471) female 35% (253) male students, most them non-medical (90%) rural (60%). score 21 57, mean 41.92±5.78, less than one fifth had higher level knowledge (14.8%), positive attitudes (15.5%), low-risk practices (8.6%). significant factor predicting knowledge, upper-year (junior/senior) lower-year (OR = 1.59, p 0.01). Both residence 0.57, < 0.05) 2.26, p<0.05) attitude factors, with more attitude. But predictors practice gender 3.26, 0.05), 0.75, 2.25, 0.05). Conclusion pass rate Chinese low, showed insufficient or poor knowledge. It necessary strengthen school multimedia communication platforms those identified related factors.
