We demonstrate a passively mode-locked fiber laser employing zirconium telluride (ZrTe 2 ) as saturable absorber and illustrate its application for vector soliton generation in erbium-doped lasers. By tuning the pump power polarization controller, stable operations different are obtained with cavity lengths. In addition, we also further research on characteristics of solitons formed laser. The features experimentally explored, these proved to be group velocity locked solitons. Our results indicate that ZrTe nanosheets could available ultrashort pulse lasers, especially generating pulses
