In this paper, a high-repetition-rate, high-peak-power burst-mode nanosecond 355 nm UV laser was demonstrated. A quasi-continuous wave (QCW) diode (LD) side-pumped electro-optical (EO) Q-switched Nd: YAG performed as the fundamental source. Under pumping duration of 250 μs and burst repetition rate 100 Hz, pulse energy 20 kHz reached 5.3 mJ with single 1.325 mJ, width 68 ns, resulting in peak power 19.49 kW. The as-generated millijoule has great potential for high-end processing lift-off, annealing slicing display semiconductor fields.
