This study presents a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of scientific publications on electrochemical etching and deposition from 1970 to 2023. Using the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) database, we analysed 5166 and, 30,759 deposition. The reveals distinct yet interconnected research landscapes for these two techniques. Electrochemical has focused themes such as porous silicon, photoluminescence, applications in photonics, while centred energy storage, catalysis, biosensing applications. Keyword co-occurrence illustrates progression fundamental studies specialised both fields. highlights importance international collaboration provides insights into historical contemporary advancements methods nanomaterial synthesis. findings underscore complementary nature deposition, driving innovation offering new opportunities materials science technology.
