More than five billion tons of karstic bauxites were formed in the North China Craton (NCC) during Late Carboniferous period. Compared to bauxite ore, genesis entire aluminous-bearing strata has received less attention. In this study, we conducted geological, mineralogical, and geochemical analyses on core samples from located Xingxian area, situated within northern NCC, aiming elucidate genetic process these formations. The consist a layer (diaspore–anatase–kaolinite–florencite) sandwiched between upper sandy claystone horizon (kaolinite–illite–quartz) lower berthierine-bearing (berthierine–diaspore–hematite–goethite). Based continental crust-normalized patterns rare earth elements yttrium (REY), immobile trace element ratios, mineral inheritance diagrams, previous findings, it is suggested that was weathered impure limestone at bottom, whereas mainly originated intermediate-felsic igneous rocks margin granite Qinling Orogenic Belt, aluminosilicate surrounding paleo-uplifts. During early diagenetic stage, berthierine transformed under alkaline reducing conditions iron-rich clays (composed clay minerals, ferric etc.) acidic oxidizing underlying limestone. coexistence with low-temperature stability diaspore observed claystone, which precludes high-temperature origin strata. Moreover, characterized by small crystal size usually poorly crystallized, suggesting supergene precipitation-diagenesis origin. paragenetic minerals assemblages (e.g., diaspore, berthierine, goethite, hematite, suggest primarily transition zone nearer phreatic environment. Large-scale volcanism warm, humid climatic accelerated decomposition allochthonous weathering materials, resulting downward migration metal ions. These ions then precipitated weakly environment, giving rise form ore dominated anatase, REY minerals.

As an unconventional gas reservoir, bauxite reservoirs have often been studied as weathered crust cover layers rather than in the past. The Taiyuan Formation Longdong area of Ordos Basin has achieved breakthroughs, and some wells obtained industrial airflow. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct basic geological research on reservoir. application casting thin sections, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), high-pressure mercury injection (HPMI), low-temperature nitrogen adsorption (L-TNA) techniques provides a comprehensive framework for studying reservoir characteristics well micropore fractal structure. results indicate that (1) logging high natural gamma (500API) low acoustic wave time difference (60–90 us/m), with being most critical parameter identifying curve. (2) rocks region belong sedimentary formation, three types micro ancient landforms (buried pits, terraces, grooves) different lithological combinations. Among them, combination buried pits carbonaceous mudstones subjected freshwater leaching long time, thickness largest. (3) pores are mainly dissolution within particles, intergranular pores, microcracks. average porosity 8.49%, permeability 0.261 × 10 −3 μm 2 , standard greater 0.4 accounting 17.19%. (4) dimension D2 D1 nanopore were calculated by experiments, respectively. Through correlation analysis, we found (calculated from data) more effectively characterizes quality nanopores compared (HPMI). We established classification evaluation standards: Type I 2.2∼2.6, II 2.6∼2.8, III 2.8∼3. Class high-quality can be preferred target exploration study area.

Abstract Developments in Earth system research have led to widespread interest multi‐sphere interactions that may controlled bauxite formation. Although karst ores are abundant the Tethyan Metallogenic Domain (TMD), their genesis and distribution not yet fully understood. This study utilizes Random Forest (RF) model analyze geochemical data sets compiled from three provinces Tethys, including Mediterranean, Central Asian, Chinese provinces. Meaningful variables among provenance, paleolatitude tectonic setting affected formation of deposits identified. The Logistic Regression is used verify importance various factors. Our shows when RF achieves best classifier performance, TiO 2 variable has greatest impact on model. content highest Asian Province. high bauxites indicates a provenance magmatic origine associated with Subduction Provenance Zone.
