ABSTRACT As hydrocarbon exploration progresses in the Santanghu Basin, tight oil reservoirs Carboniferous volcanic rocks have become a focal point for and development efforts. This study aims to account significant industrial flow from tuff layers of Kalagang Formation well blocks Ma 71 33 Malang Sag within basin. Through experiments including organic carbon analysis, rock pyrolysis, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), this systematically investigated principal characteristics determinants reservoirs, culminating modes, thus providing reference production area. The results indicate that is composed predominantly tuff, especially vitric tuff. storage spaces formation include dissolution pores, tectonic fractures, with devitrification pores less common. Compaction plays crucial role rendering tight. Nevertheless, differentiated diagenetic alterations improved microscopic their interconnectivity. Well 3301 33, having undergone weathering (leaching), exhibit superior reservoir physical properties connectivity compared 73. In contrast, 73 experienced more due acid under influence source types generation. comprehensive analysis indicates were formed close superimposition along effective connection rock‐rooted faults. two sets proximal ‘lower‐source upper‐reservoir’ ‘self‐sourced reservoir’ modes.
