Head and neck cancer (HNC), a condition that is both disfiguring potentially fatal, has become critical public health challenge. This study seeks to evaluate the trends in HNC burden predict its future trajectory China. Utilizing data from 2021 Global Burden of Disease database, we focused on incidence, mortality, disability-adjusted life years related lip oral cavity, nasopharyngeal, laryngeal cancers within country. We analyzed changes incidence mortality rates using estimated annual percentage change, age-period-cohort (APC) analysis, decomposition analysis. Additionally, an Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average model was employed forecast HNC. In 2021, China’s for were higher than those 40.98%, 98.05%, 50.73% countries worldwide, respectively. The increases significantly with age, particularly among men. APC analysis indicates rising younger adults. Decomposition comparing 2021–2019 highlighted ASIR aging primary factors influencing number cases deaths. Projections indicate China expected continue rising. To combat this growing issue, it imperative enhance strategies focus prevention, early detection, efficient resource allocation.
