Volcanic mounds and carbonate buildups share similar geometries, making their differentiation in seismic data a significant challenge. This challenge is further compounded complex composed of both multi-stage developed igneous rocks biogenic carbonates. To address this gap, study investigates mixed carbonate-igneous buildup at the central Baiyun Sag northern South China Sea. By analyzing lithofacies carbonates rocks, morphological features spatial distribution patterns corresponding to these sedimentary volcanic facies were identified. Well-to-seismic calibration was used delineate stratigraphic units, typical profiles analyzed. Eight distinct identified for rocks. The evolution divided into three stages: (1) eruptions development, (2) overflowing magma reef shoal deposits, (3) reef-bank deposition accompanied by intrusion. We propose that can be distinguished from temporal coupling features: (a) surface subsurface intrusive bodies are inseparable, with identifiable through faults conduits; (b) typically display symmetrical structures on sides highland exhibit better stratification away activity; (c) generally show convex clinoform steep slope platform margin, while concave gentle slopes. Furthermore, analysis high-quality reservoir development within instrumental advancing oil gas exploration seamounts buildups.
