ABSTRACT The first 14 C dates for representatives of the Late Pleistocene – Early Holocene megafauna are reported from sites in Kaliningrad Province, Russia. woolly mammoth and cave lion older than ca. 45 000 bp , could have corresponded to Middle Weichselian interglacial (Marine Isotope Stage 3). age reindeer is 10 aurochs 7000 bp. This shows that existed this part Eastern Baltic region prior Last Glacial Maximum (LGM). After LGM, Province was recolonized by reindeer.
