Abstract
The
South
China
mainland
and
nearby
islands
are
biodiversity
hotspots.
Section
Nintooa
,
widely
distributed
across
China,
Vietnam,
Hainan
Island,
exhibits
a
typical
disjunct
distribution
pattern.
However,
the
origins
of
flora
Island
phylogenetic
relationships
within
remain
contentious.
In
this
study,
we
collected
81
samples
encompassing
all
recognized
species
along
with
from
other
sections
Lonicera
.
We
reconstructed
using
491
orthologous
nuclear
genes
complete
plastomes
generated
by
target
enrichment
genome
skimming
sequencing.
Our
gene-based
concatenated
trees
support
monophyly
tree
indicates
that
Vietnamese
populations
form
sister
clades.
plastome
results
indicate
is
polyphyletic,
subsection
Volubilis
forming
monophyletic
group
Calcaratae
clade
members
subgenus
Chamaecerasus
hybridization
network
analysis
reveals
extensive
gene
flow
whereas
shows
no
leaving
origin
unclear.
exhibit
unstable
positions
underwent
rapid
radiation
during
Miocene.
Biogeographical
