Mitigating climate change can be achieved by opting for sustainable, plant-based materials instead of relying on hazardous chemicals that come with various side effects. Various natural plant extracts find widespread application in synthesizing insect-repellent coatings, particularly industries such as paint manufacturing. The increasing demand these coatings has led us to out the effects different efficient preparation paints more advanced impacts and low cost. For this purpose, zinc nanoparticles Eucalyptus globulus L. its were used study due their remarkable biocidal antimicrobial activities. extract was prepared process oven-drying heating followed filtration. Then, they subjected phytochemical tests performed which material did not contain flavonoids glycol. comparison size visible during weighing found 4.451 mg. Advanced characterization techniques like FTIR, UV spectroscopy, particle analysis adopted extract. FTIR reported lie range 1000–1800 cm−1. On other hand, results spectroscopy showed absorption peaks around 300 nm. produced integrated into formulations impart antibacterial characteristics. Painted panels exhibited notable efficacy, presenting an inhibition zone 0.7 cm Escherichia coli 0.3 Staphylococcus aureus when utilizing biocide. Plant yielded zones 1 1.2, while aqueous resulted 0.2 0.5, respectively. A thorough evaluation paint's color attributes, including ΔL, Δa, Δb, ΔE, indicated noteworthy differences. CMC ΔE values from trials exceeded 1, indicating a substantial shade. batches containing E. lighter specifically green yellow colors. Their insect repellant activity tested using mosquitos Aedes aegypti age 4–5 weeks, revealing 61 % effective period, greater than 7 observed non-biocidal formulations. responded best towards mosquitoes terms repellency ultimate target achieved.

ABSTRACT Mosquitoes act as biological carriers spreading numerous vector borne diseases globally. The present research aimed to study the effect of essential oils (EOs) from Pentanema indicum (L.) Y. Ling and Chromolaena odorata R.M. King & H. Rob against Aedes aegypti , Anopheles stephensi Culex quinquefasciatus mosquitoes. Concentrations 3.125, 6.25, 12.5 25 50 ppm were tested for their mosquitocidal properties. oil (EO) P. demonstrated promising ovicidal activity, achieving 100% efficacy Ae. Similarly, C. exhibited significant activity higher concentrations, with rates 72% 79% 64% 300 after 72 In terms larvicidal showed potent toxicity LC values 4.28 14.01 5.47 . Additionally, considerable mosquito 95.28 98.95 89.05 However, no pupicidal was observed both EOs. GC–MS analysis identified β‐Pinene (14.31%), D‐Limonene (13.48%) Caryophyllene (25.48%) main components in EO contained α‐Pinene (12.10%), Geijerene (11.62%) (10.64%) primary components; probably these compounds responsible activities. Toxicity studies indicated that EOs plants had adverse effects on natural predators. then formulated field application laboratory setting; they without harming This suggests offer an effective alternative synthetic pesticides.

The Ecuadorian Amazon harbors numerous wild and cultivated species used as food, many of which are underutilized. This review explores the bioactive potential five such fruits—Borojó (Alibertia patinoi); Chonta (Bactris gasipaes); Arazá (Eugenia stipitata); grape (Pourouma cecropiifolia), a edible plant; Cocona (Solanum sessiliflorum)—and their applications against metabolic syndrome. study highlights health-promoting ingredients validates traditional medicinal properties, emphasizing significance in improving health mitigating effects Western diet. These fruits, integral to cuisine, consumed fresh processed. is widely but less prominent than pre-Hispanic times, Borojó known for its aphrodisiac northern provinces, economically significant food products, least utilized researched. fruits rich phenolics (A. patinoi, E. stipitata) carotenoids (B. gasipaes, stipitata), beneficial controlling advocates more research product development, especially lesser-known with high phenolic anthocyanin content. underscores economic, cultural, nutritional value these promoting integration into modern diets contributing sustainable agriculture, cultural preservation, public through functional foods nutraceuticals.

Abstract The objective of this study is to determine the larvicidal activity essential oils (EOs) extracted from three plants genus Artemisia against mosquito Culex pipiens ( C. ) using in vitro and silico studies. A total number 20 third- fourth-instar larvae were exposed various concentrations plants. LC 50 90 values tested EOs determined Probit analysis. In addition, sensitivity these was compared a standard insecticide, temephos, under laboratory conditions. Furthermore, assessments carried out on major constituents help understand explain acquired vivo results. Gas chromatography analysis identified compounds as d -limonene β-pinene for flahaultii , camphor borneol Artemisia. aragonensis artemisia ketone caryophyllene annua . A. oil showed highest efficacy larvae, followed by with average activity. contrast, EO, composed high percentage monoterpenes, least active. Docking simulation indicated that several studied ligands had promising binding scores within receptor’s site reference insecticide temephos. obtained results allow us conclude species endemic Morocco, an excellent means controlling
