Limited studies have highlighted the importance of incorporating behavioural assessments into insecticide efficacy evaluations for wireworm pest control. "For this study, video tracking technology combined with a soil bioassay arena was employed to analyse behaviour Agriotes obscurus wireworms before, during, and after exposure wheat seeds treated neonicotinoid insecticides thiamethoxam imidacloprid at field-relevant concentrations. The analysis identified set key metrics assessing effects these on wireworms. results showed that exhibited neutral attractancy towards A brief period feeding followed by rapid intoxication minimised damage seeds. Furthermore, demonstrated specific form resistance neonicotinoids did not rely sensory input. In insects, speed intoxication, accompanied drastic changes in behaviour, ensured they received sublethal rather than lethal dose insecticide. fully recovered from all abnormalities within week, none died 20 days following exposure. conclusion, method provides efficient means intended management, offering valuable insights prior more resource-intensive costly field trials.

Agricultural pest insects, particularly those within the Lepidoptera and Diptera orders, are responsible for significant crop damage, leading to economic losses. As chemical insecticides become increasingly prevalent, concerns over their detrimental impact on non-target species environment grow, emphasizing need less toxic alternatives. This study investigates molecular interactions of quercetin sabinene - two naturally occurring compounds with key antioxidant detoxification enzymes in Drosophila melanogaster, a model organism biological research. In this study, binding affinities such as cytochrome P450 (CYP450), glutathione S-transferase (GST), superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT) glutamate-cysteine ligase (GCL) were evaluated using docking techniques. The results revealed that exhibits stronger all compared sabinene, highest energy observed between CAT (-10.7 kcal/mol). These findings suggest significantly affects systems D. potentially enhancing oxidative stress. Sabinene demonstrated weaker across enzymes, indicating lesser impact. contributes valuable insights into potential agents control strategies by targeting insect biochemical pathways.
