Abstract Artemisia argyi H. Lév. & Vaniot, also known as mugwort, wild , etc., is a perennial herb of the Asteraceae family. It has long history applications in food and traditional medicine. Modern studies have shown that it contains various ingredients with wide range bioactivities. However, research application still face some challenges, such unclear functional mechanisms, non-uniform quality standards. To get most current understanding research, we searched PubMed, ScienceDirect, Springer, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, CQVIP Network Database using keyword " Argyi alone combination chemical composition characteristics for its use, botanical characteristics, composition, pharmacological effects, edible value, safety, industry status. The relevant literature published from 2000 to present was included. search results indicate been used medicine time. Its fresh tender leaves prepare food, aged medicinal purposes. Various active components identified volatile oil, extracts derived . limited. Clearly, more works are anticipated thoroughly investigate establish standards uses homology, fully develop promote individual population health. Future should prioritize elucidating particularly anti-inflammatory antioxidant pathways, while strengthening assessments nutritional bioactive profiles. Such efforts will advance rational utilization both medical industries, fostering broader disease management development.
