Organoid, organ-on-a-chip and traditional Chinese medicine

Abstract
In
the
past
few
years,
emergence
of
organoids
and
organ-on-a-chip
(OOAC)
technologies,
which
are
complementary
to
animal
models
two-dimensional
cell
culture
methods
can
better
simulate
internal
environment
human
body,
provides
a
new
platform
for
traditional
Chinese
medicine
(TCM)
studies.
Organoids
OOAC
techniques
have
been
increasingly
applied
in
fields
drug
screening,
assessment
development,
personalized
therapies,
developmental
biology,
there
some
application
cases
TCM
this
review,
we
summarized
current
status
using
organoid
technologies
research
provide
key
insights
future
study.
It
is
believed
that
will
play
more
important
roles
make
greater
contributions
innovative
development
TCM.

Background
Liver
cancer
is
highly
prevalent
worldwide.
However,
current
medical
treatments
remain
insufficient.
Although
herbal
medicine
has
a
long
history
and
extensive
expertise
in
treating
liver
cancer,
the
literature
this
field
not
been
thoroughly
explored.
This
study
aims
to
assess
analyze
distribution
patterns
key
research
areas
of
publications
concerning
for
cancer.
Methods
Literature
on
published
between
January
1,
2008,
September
28,
2024,
was
collected
research.
Excel,
CiteSpace
6.4.R1,
VOSviewer
1.6.20,
Scimago
Graphica,
Bibliometrix
4.1
were
used
data
analysis.
Result
The
examines
634
academic
articles
with
majority
contributed
by
Chinese
researchers,
particularly
from
Shanghai
University
Traditional
Medicine.
Wang
Ning
most
productive
author,
possessing
highest
h-index.
JOURNAL
OF
ETHNOPHARMACOLOGY
Journals
publishing
are
primarily
fields
molecular
biology
immunology,
whereas
cited
journals
mainly
environment,
toxicology,
nutrition.
Keyword
clustering
analysis
indicates
that
“NF
kappa
B”
apoptosis
have
main
topics
field.
Analysis
emergent
words
suggests
“network
pharmacology”,
antioxidants,
“adjuvant
therapy”,
“molecular
docking”
may
become
significant
near
future.
Conclusion

Developing
novel,
efficient,
and
safe
peptide
drugs
from
sea
anemones
has
aroused
great
interest
in
countries
around
the
world
today.
Sea
contain
complex
protein
toxins,
which
determine
diversity
of
their
biological
activities.
In
this
study,
a
variety
activities
were
assessed
for
crude
venom
extracted
five
species
South
China
anemones,
including
hemolytic,
enzyme
inhibition,
anticancer,
insecticidal,
analgesic
lethal
The
most
toxic
anemone
was
found
to
be
Heteractis
magnifica
,
high
activity
mice
with
an
LD
50
11.0
mg/kg.
H.
also
exhibited
range
potent
activities,
trypsin
inhibitory,
cytotoxic
against
U251
A549
cells,
insecticidal
addition,
Stichodactyla
haddoni
effective
inhibitor
pepsin,
crispa
extremely
strong
toxicity

cells.
These
findings
are
significance
exploring
potential
application
resources,
expected

new
directions
possibilities

anticancer
drugs,
