Frailty is a complex multi-dimensional state of increased vulnerability to adverse outcomes and associated with older age but there growing evidence accelerated ageing frailty in non-geriatric populations, including those experiencing socio-economic deprivation extreme social exclusion, such as people homelessness. Addiction, coping mechanism for prior trauma, common among who are homeless can have gendered dimension. Women homelessness addiction unique needs which require approach. The aim this study evaluate the feasibility impact an exercise intervention target known physical functioning deficits population experiences. This quantitatively driven, sequential single-arm mixed-methods will low threshold trauma informed on women addiction. Physical function (10m Walk Test, 2Min Single Leg Stance, Chair Stand hand grip dynamometry), (Clinical Scale SHARE-Frailty Instrument) nutritional status (Mini-Nutritional Status), pain (Numerical Rating Scale) quality life (SF 12-V2) be evaluated. 10-week involve 3-times weekly programme protein supplementation. Following this, qualitative interviews, thematically analysed using Braun & Clarke methodology, conducted. conducted Dublin from February July 2024. Little about frailty-focussed interventions proposed help increase knowledge base regarding health burden experienced by vulnerable deliver targeted dimension mitigate its affects. findings research narrow gap guide clinicians policy makers implement gender-based treatment strategies population.
