Abstract
Whispering
gallery
mode
(WGM)
resonators
with
high
optical
quality
factor
(
Q
)
are
sensitive
to
environment
changes
and
used
in
various
sensing
applications.
We
have
developed
a
high-precision
temperature
sensor
using
compactly
packaged
lithium
niobate
WGM
resonator.
This
offers
sensitivity
of
34.38
pm
°C
−1
resolution
up
5.6×10−4
°C.
It
is
portable
,
making
it
suitable
for
outside
the
laboratory.
The
device
also
resilient
humidity,
enhancing
its
practicality.

Abstract
This
paper
presents
a
comparative
analysis
of
the
conventional
Mach–Zehnder
interferometer
(MZI)
configuration
and
loop-terminated
MZI
(LT-MZI)
configuration,
emphasizing
their
respective
advantages
utilization
in
sensing
applications.
The
MZI,
renowned
for
its
simplicity
versatility,
is
contrasted
with
LT-MZI,
which
incorporates
loop
termination
to
enhance
sensitivity
spectral
performance.
Through
detailed
examination
design
principles,
operational
mechanisms,
performance
metrics,
it
shown
that
LT-MZI
offers
superior
improved
interference
pattern
control,
making
particularly
suitable
high-precision
perspective
provides
valuable
insights
into
selection
optimization
configurations

photonic
needs.

Abstract
We
introduce
and
analyze
a
lithographically
defined
cavity
(Li-cavity)
incorporating
buried
mesa
defect
in
planar
vertical
structure,
which
induces
transverse
photonic
confinement
while
enabling
compatibility
with
electrical
injection.
systematically
investigate
the
influence
of
key
parameters
on
optical
behavior
fundamental
properties
using
comprehensive
three-dimensional
model.
Our
analysis
reveals
that
Li-cavity
exhibits
low
scattering,
resulting
high
Q
Purcell
factors,
even
at
sub-wavelength
dimensions.
Furthermore,
supports
single-mode
operation
within
broader
aperture
size
range
compared
to
conventional
designs,
promising
enhanced
power
emission.
Adequately
designed
structures
demonstrate
superior
factors
wavelength-scale
sizes,
outperforming
micropillar
cavities.
These
improved
customizable
device
characteristics
stem
from
simple
fabrication
process
precisely
controls
size,
shape,
mode.
Superior
characteristics,
along
its
adaptability
diverse
materials,
wavelengths,
integration
platforms,
promise
broad
applications
potential
adaptation
this
design
devices.
