Abstract Background As the world grapples with increasing agricultural demands and unpredictable environmental stressors, there is a pressing need to improve plant resilience. Therefore, understanding pioneering role of nanoparticles in alleviating stress crucial for developing stress-resilient varieties enhance food secure world. Nanoparticles have unique physical chemical properties, demonstrate their potential growth, nutrient utilization, tolerance. This review delves into mechanistic insights nanoparticle-plant interactions, highlighting how these tiny particles can mitigate diverse stressors such as drought, salinity, heavy metal toxicity. The action different types nanoparticles, including metal, carbon-based, biogenic are discussed context interaction physiology responses. Aims article also explores drawbacks implications nanoparticle use, emphasizing responsible sustainable applications. this study aimed offer exciting possibilities managing both biotic abiotic species, from improving water-use efficiency resilience via nanotechnology. Conclusions Future research directions suggested, focusing on nano-bioengineering precision agriculture create crops security. Through lens interdisciplinary research, paper underscores significance innovative tools realm agriculture, catalyzing paradigm shift towards farming systems.

Salt and drought stress has been an important factor limiting agricultural production, SA is phenolic involved in response, but the function of response to dual salt rice not clear. In this study, effects mechanisms exogenous SA-triggered adaptation were investigated by detecting physiological biochemical indexes expression tolerance genes. The results showed that application could significantly increase antioxidant enzyme activities seedlings under stress, thereby reducing contents H2O2 MDA maintaining growth seedlings. Moreover, genes abiotic such as OsDREB2A, OsSAPK8, OsSAPK10 OsMYB2, up-regulated treatment, further enhance those like OsDREB2A suggesting might regulate activity via inducing enhancing rice. will enrich knowledge provide a reference for studying mechanism resistance rice, breeding new germplasm with improved resistance.

The accumulation of leachates from unlined dumpsites laden soil-water environment with toxic elements poses imminent threats to both the and humans. This study evaluated seasonal levels potentially (PTEs), their health-related risks, contamination factors (CF), pollution load index, geo-accumulation index (Igeo), ecological risk polymetallic contaminant Nemerow's synthetic soils near a waste dump in Nnewi, Anambra State, Nigeria. PTE results indicated that Cd (1.54–3.40 mg/kg) were above World Health Organization's threshold limit for soil. studied soil samples had higher than control due proximity dumpsite. CF moderate considerable contamination, while areas showed seasons. indices heavy sample (2.207–2.517) (1.445–1.659). However, ranged 85.72 164.84, indicating low risk. Igeo unpolluted, moderately polluted very strongly polluted. values 3.560 3.564 2.070–2.502 samples, respectively. (23.22–26.43) (15.02–17.23) high examination highlighted adults children have non-cancer health threat via ingestion route, was obtained cancer dangers routes. For dermal pathway, minimal chances exposure observed children. Pearson's correlation principal component loadings revealed sources be similar origins linked anthropogenic activities. Awareness programs are necessary educate populace about using contaminated farming or recreational use sanitary should encouraged adopted as disposal method by government mitigate spread into environment.
