Limb apraxia and active inference in the visuomotor pathways DOI Open Access

This study presents a unified neurocomputational account of apraxia within the visuomotor system using active inference framework. In this framework, brain encodes generative model causes sensory observations and continually reduces surprise (or, more formally, variational free energy) associated with these observations. Our goal is to illustrate how neuroanatomical neurofunctional organization are emergent consequences minimization under appropriate model, while arises from incorrect parameterizations model. pathways provides unifying perspective on key findings in neuropsychological literature.
