Ammonium polyphosphate (APP) is a common and commercially available flame retardant for various polymeric materials due to its low cost, ease of processibility, toxicity, environmental friendliness. This mini review focuses on the application APP in unsaturated polyester resin (UPR) outlines retardancy, thermal stability, mechanical properties APP-containing UPR composites. As an effective acid source, can facilitate dehydration carbonization matrix during combustion, forming graphite char layer surface slow down heat exchange volatile release, thus suppressing burning reaction. Due inorganic APP, microencapsulation decoration are usually conducted it enhance compatibility with flame-retardant efficiency. Moreover, different synergists also applied strengthen performance UPR. In this review, we briefly summarized influences microencapsulated surface-decorated APP/synergist UPR, respectively. Then, advancement challenges these systems highlighted, future research opportunities proposed.

Unsaturated polyester resins (UPR) are commonly used in electronics manufacturing and traditional construction, but their inherent flammability greatly limits use. An expansive flame retardant EZ was prepared via the simple ionic reaction between 2-Aminothiazole (AMZ) ethylene diamine tetra methylene phosphoric acid (EDTMP). The thermal decomposition process of UPR/EZ retardancy compound were studied. mechanism UPR analyzed detail. When content 15 wt%, flame-retardant grade composite reached V-0. efficiency very high mainly through interaction gas phase condensed phase. Interestingly, can perform expansion crosslinking UPR, which effectively promote carbon formation UPR. Moreover, itself also expand to form dense continuous layers further elucidates mechanism.

Outstanding biodegradability and biocompatibility are attributes associated with particular polyester substances that make this group useful in specific biomedical fields. To assess the potential as a biomaterial, novel composite consisting of hydroxyapatite (HAp) unsaturated resin (UPR) was developed work. Using hand-lay-up technique, various percentages (50, 40, 30, 20, 10%) HAp were reinforced into UPR matrix to fabricate materials out glass sheets. Prior processing samples, chemically synthesized wet chemical manner. universal testing machine (UTM), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA), fabricated samples characterized. The crystallographic parameters also estimated through range formulas. optimal amount for 40% according findings tensile strength (TS), modulus (TM), percentage elongation at break (EB), bending (BS), (BM). Improvements TS, TM, BS, BM ideal combination 39.39, 9.21, 912.05, 259.96%, each case, over controlled one. Thermogravimetric (TGA) has been implemented determine degradation temperature composites up 600 °C.
