The global public health challenge resulting from antimicrobial resistance (AMR) reaching about 5 million annually necessitates the search for viable alternatives to synthetic drugs treating infectious diseases. In this study, phytochemical and activities of Myristica fragrans seed extract was evaluated against some selected clinical isolates. screening performed using standard methods, while assay, minimum inhibitory/ bactericidal concentration tests extracts were conducted agar well broth dilution methods respectively. Antibiotics susceptibility test used determine sensitivity isolates extracts. analysis yielded with Quinones, alkaloids, saponins in higher quantities. results assay showed that methanolic had inhibitory zones 20mm Escherichia coli least Staphylococcus aureus 9mm. values 31.25 mg/ml 62.5mg/ml recorded aqueous Conventional antibiotics like streptomycin, tarvid gentamycin inhibition than others such as ampiclox, erythromycin pefloxacin failed inhibit growth This study possess potentials treat antibiotic-resistant infections caused by tested study. However, there is need further studies on optimization standardization extraction method, mechanisms actions bioactive compounds toxicity seeds extract.
